Program Description

AcroDance: This class will encourage the dancers in learning the art of balance, agility, and motor coordination.   This class is designed for the dancers who is just beginning their tumbling profession to dancers with the ability to perform acrobatic exercises, walkovers, limbering, handsprings and somersaults in the air.

B.A.D. (Boys Athletic Dance program): This class will focus on having fun while interpreting their movement to the music for BOYS ONLY. This class begins with a warm-up including a variety of exercises to strengthen the body and completing the class with high-energy combinations and choreographies.

Ballet: This class will encourage the dancers to learn ballet vocabulary, precise ballet movements and positions. This class will allow the dancers to learn the proper ballet technique, alignment and performance skills through the use of the barre and center of the dance floor. Ballet dancers must be highly trained and disciplined (or willing to), for their hard work and dedication is evident in their ability to glide effortlessly across a stage.

Barre & Strength: This class will encourage the dancers in learning the basic concepts of muscle contraction using the ballet barre. It will allow the dancer to improve on their flexibility of the body; which will enhance the range of motion of all body parts, as well as help increase the core strength of the body and work towards mental balance. This class will be beneficial in reducing stress, improving posture and strengthening the muscles.

Contemporary: This class will encourage the dancers to use their emotions and moods to design their own steps and routines. It is a dance style that centers on a dancer’s own interpretations instead of structured steps. This class will help in learning how to use their own body weight to enhance movement.

Core Strength: This program includes components of balance and stability, abdominal and lower back work outs to stabilize the spine in the neutral position throughout every type of movement.

Hip-Hop: This class will focus on having fun while interpreting their movement to the music. This class begins with a warm-up including a variety of exercises to strengthen the body and completing the class with high-energy combinations and choreographies.

Jazz: This class will introduce all ages to the jazz techniques as well as… isolated movements (isolations);   warm-ups in center floor and across the floor; traveling across the floor; and choreography to different fashions of jazz such as Hip-Hop, Broadway/Theatre and Lyrical.

Leaps and Bounds: Dancers will be concentrating on the technical aspects of leaping and jumping by learning a series of jump and leap combinations.

Pre-Pointe: This class will encourage the “first-year” pointe dancers to understand the importance of having strong muscles to be able to perform rigorous physical demand of pointe work. This class must be taken in conjunction with weekly ballet class, and must have the approval of Ballet and All That Jazz ballet instructor.

Preschool Classes: (ages 3-4) The main objective for this class is to guide our dancers in the following fields… developing coordination and motor skills; learning correct terms and techniques for beginning dance steps; following directions; understanding rhythm; working well while dancing with other children; and developing positive self-esteem and having fun trying new things. This combination class offers Acrobatics, Ballet and Tap.

Private Classes: This class may be booked with individual teachers in 30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute sessions. Private dance lessons are personalized to suit the dancer’s needs. We offer privates in Ballet/Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Technique, Modern/Contemporary, Acrobatics and Musical Theatre. 

Pointe: This class will mirror the traditional ballet class format with pointe shoes, which will allow the dancers to dance on the tips of their toes. This class must be taken in conjunction with weekly ballet class, and must have the approval of Ballet and All That Jazz ballet instructor.

Stretch and Strength: This class will encourage the dancers in learning the basic concepts of muscle contraction. Tap: This class will encourage the dancers to use their feet to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. Each class will focus on learning single tap steps, then incorporating the steps into series of combinations. This class will allow dancers to produce clean tap sounds with each step, and to produce clear and clean sounds with various levels of tone.

Twist and Turns: Dancers will be concentrating on the technical aspects of turning by learning a series of turn combinations.

Youth Classes: (ages 5-8) This class will engage the dancers in all of the basic terminology and technique while further gaining knowledge of the following fields… solid foundation for training or the next level; recognizing movement to music; recognizing structure in classroom discipline, class routines and performance peace; and developing positive self-esteem and having fun trying new things.
